Workshop along the Upper Danube River.

Earlier this year, DANUBE4all project partners from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Viadonau, DANUBEPARKS Network of Protected Areas and Donau-Auen National Park, were joined by a group of local citizens and community representatives on a boat excursion to our project demonstration site in the Donau-Auen National Park, which lies approximately 30Km east of Vienna.

The field trip took a closer look at the main project site 'Paradeis Island' on board a “Tschaike”, which is a detailed replica of a historic Danube ship. The project and specific revitalisation measures were presented and discussed and local stakeholders gave their inputs and ideas about the Danube floodplains & wetlands in this area.
