The DANUBE4All project brings together partners from 14 European countries, all working towards the restoration of the Danube River Basin.

By joining the Drinkable Rivers Citizen Science programme, you become part of a global community of local environmental organizations, schools, visitor centers, companies, and more that are measuring the health of the rivers around them. All hubs use our professional measurement kit and share their research data on our data platform. We hope that joining the Citizen Science Programme as a hub is seen by you as a long-term commitment since this would be the only way for us to reach our common goal.

What information is collected?

We collect 14 different measurements related to the location, shape, environmental health, chemical composition, physical aspects, and more. These measurements will indicate the state of the river's health and in time show a trend towards a drinkable river or help understand where improvements can be made. Measurements are recorded, tracked and visualised via our data platform.

We would love to hear your plans and dreams for using the measurement kit. We will review all applications according to those conditions, and select a maximum of 20 hubs that will be able to join the programme through partial DANUBE4all sponsorship and start their journey as a Drinkable Rivers Citizen Science Hub.

Final registration deadline: 31 January 2025

Notification of acceptance: 1 March 2025
